Personality & Traits

General Overview Zosia can be a bit of an enigma to people she meets for the first time. Her years of experience are masked by her youthful appearance. She is highly intelligent and deeply analytical. She is calm under pressure, able to assess situations with precision, but often struggles with personal attachments due to the transience of mortal lives around her. Having lived through centuries of galactic history, she holds a pragmatic but somewhat detached view of conflicts, prioritizing the bigger picture over immediate struggles. When it comes to conflict, she would rather not.

Despite her wisdom, she is burdened by the weight of past mistakes, both personal and professional. Her sense of duty remains strong. She finds that, even though she has repeatedly retired from Star Fleet, she is regularly drawn back with a sense of exploration overwhelming her common sense.

✪✪✪✪
Strengths & Weaknesses With over 3,200 years of life experience, Zosia has witnessed galactic history unfold first-hand. She is skilled in diplomacy, science, and engineering. She has an in-depth understanding of starship systems, including propulsion, power generation, life support, and other critical systems. She is quick to troubleshoot complex issues and offer solutions. She is familiar with many Starfleet ship designs and can maneuver throughout the framework with ease.

She is a capable leader in the engineering department, guiding teams of engineers and technicians with a positive and motivating energy. She is organized and keeps her department running smooth, even through crises. She is well-trained to lead under pressure. She follows protocols.

Speaks thousands of languages, including dead and cryptic dialects.

After watching countless friends perish, she struggles to form deep emotional bonds. Sometimes, this is perceived as cold, distant, or calculating. Lanthanites tend to be secretive and wary of outsiders, sometimes making trust between parties difficult.

The guilt from past decisions, wars, and failures haunt her. The weight of command and loss of life takes an emotional toll on one’s soul. Reminders of friends long passed are melancholic. Due to this, she may hesitate in critical moments, overanalyzing rather than acting.

She has met and served with a diversity of alien cultures. This has developed some biases over time. She has served during times of war and peace. Seeing previously enemy races as friendly can be challenging at the best of times.

✪✪✪✪
Ambitions To live a life so fulfilling and dynamic that boredom becomes impossible.
Hobbies & Interests Model building, mechanical puzzles and lock picking, escape room challenges and puzzle solving (usually on the holodeck), study of ancient infrastructure - moving water in particular. Filigree metal work, macrame, tablet weaving. Learning (or recalling) languages, both ancient and modern. Eccentric collecting.
LCARS Wherabout Record Retired. Believed to be traveling beyond Federation space, charting unexplored anomalies and seeking lost knowledge.

Personal History Zosia has a very transient lifestyle, never settling in one location for too long, avoiding drawing too much attention to herself. She has had many aliases and is often recognized as “the daughter of …” or “the granddaughter of (an old alias).”

23rd century CE Continues exploring the galaxy in and out of Starfleet.

22nd century CE Returns to Earth, enrolls in United Earth Space Probe Agency (UESPA) Engineering Corps, specializing in warp field mechanics and structural integrity systems and begins to explore the galaxy with the Human species.

21st century CE Bounced around, exploring more planets and civilizations.

20th century CE Observation of Andorian/Vulcan first contact.

19th century CE Exploration of Cardassia, Vulcan, and Peliar Zel.

18th century CE Bounced around, exploring more planets and civilization with brief return to Earth after about 900 years of being away. Zosia is shocked, surprised, and disappointed by many of the changes.

17th century CE Bounced around, exploring more planets and civilizations.

16th century CE Much time is spent in and around Bajor space. Observed the launch of the first solar-sail spacecraft.

15th century CE Bounced around, exploring more planets and civilizations.

14th century CE A visit to Ardana was in order. Observed the creation of the city, Stratos and the evolution of the native species as they spent more and more time away from the numbing gasses within the planet’s crust. Visited Mintaka III.

13th century CE The group was drawn to the Delta Triangle, exploring the region of space and the ripples it caused with space-time.
Later, they explored Orelious IX, gathering and preserving information of the Promellian and Menthar societies prior to the wars which would eventually wipe both races from existence.

12th century CE Encountered Andoria’s second warp-capable ship. Aided the ship as it was experiencing engine problems.

11th century CE Spacefaring once more, after leaving Romulan space, they were drawn toward the Delphic Expanse.

10th century CE Connected with Vaelor, Teysa, and Varis from her original voyage to Earth. Vaelor had been away from Earth and returned with rumors of the potential formation of the Romulan Senate and the Romulan Star Empire. His news sparked the curiosity and interest among the other Lanthanites he located. An excursion away from Earth was executed.

9th century CE Rumors of above-ground pueblo construction piqued Zosia’s interest and the architect within wanted to see more. Shifting rainfall patterns suddenly added the need for innovative water conservation techniques, which Zosia was able to assist with.

8th century CE Zosia continues her travels between the Great Plains people, the Hohokam, and the Mississippians. Though disputes break out among the peoples on occasion, she finds it is nothing like the wars she was constantly avoiding in Europe and Asia.

7th century CE Heading North, Zosia encountered the Plains peoples. While they still relied on some horticulture, hunting bison was also a big part of her culture. Nostalgia for her early years of learning archery hit. She helped develop efficient bows and arrows. Their trade routes connected them with both the peoples of the Mississippi and the Southwest. She helped ease language barriers to make trade easier.

6th century CE Zosia meets the Hohokam. Their dessert community has some irrigation through canals. She helps expand the canal system, allowing them to farm in the dry conditions. She continued east, towards the Mississippi river, meeting more cultures on the way. She had never been one for agriculture, but now she spent time learning about farming corn, beans, and squash.

5th century CE Zosia remained in the Gupta Empire as she worked alongside Arybhata. When the Hunas began their invasion of the northern lands, it was time to move again - though news from other lands was not promising as immense empiric changes caused strife throughout the world. She reconnected with Solon who introduced her to the Polynesian expansion. Together, they head to the oceans and discover new lands to explore.

4th century CE After Himiko’s death and the turmoil of succession, Zosia headed south again towards India to witness the founding of the Gupta Empire. The concept of zero advanced mathematics for the first time in centuries, entertaining Zosia in a way she’d not known for quite some time.

3rd century CE Thanks to envoys sent to the Wei Dynasty, Zosia learns of Japan for the first time. She returns with the envoy to meet Queen Himiko. She took the opportunity to become one of the queen’s thousand female attendants.

2nd century CE Having experience with papyrus, Zosia refreshed her skills, adapting them into paper making once it was “properly invented” around 105 CE. She met Zhang Heng in 132 CE while he was developing the first seismograph on Earth. She helped him develop the hydraulic levers which responded to the ground’s motion.

1st century CE With Yash by her side, Zosia traveled to Rome, having never been there before. She managed to have some input on the design of the Colosseum. However, Roman societal norms made it uncomfortable for her to exist as a woman without Yash pretending to be her guardian. Yash, ready to see what he could do on his own, parted ways with her at the end of the century and Zosia returned to Asia.

1st century BCE As the Kushan Empire rose and expanded into India, Zosia and her small family joined Zhang Qian’s expeditions as the silk road was developed. Yash continued to stay under her care and tutelage at this time, not yet ready to explore the greater world.

2nd century BCE Zosia witnessed expansion of empires once again as major political changes happened across the world. She fled Corinth as Rome crushed the Greek resistance. Witnessing the enslavement of the population, she headed to India once again where she took refuge with Solon as they welcomed their son, Yash, into being.

3th century BCE Traveled to Egypt as the age of Ptolomy expanded. Helped design the Lighthouse of Alexandria based off of similar designs from her time as an architect on her homeworld. Encountered an old friend, Solon, from her refugee days and kindled a relationship with him.

4th century BCE Studies Daoism in China and worked with iron smiths to improve agricultural tools. In India, she worked with merchants, helping facilitate trade with Persia and Greece through translation and negotiations.

5th century BCE Returned to the European continent. Moved throughout Greece, including settling in Athens as a sculptor for a time and helped design the Hellenistic Stadion in Nemea. Left Greece when the Peloponnesian War broke out in favor of India once again. Engaged with the teachings of the Buddha.

6th century BCE Zosia arrives on Earth with a small party of political refugees from her homeworld. They settled in Babylon, and helped develop irrigation canals. She later moved to Egypt, growing papyrus and building mud-brick housing. Toward the end of the century, she had moved to India where she studied with a guild of artisans.

Pre-Earth History

Ages 200-300 Zosia continued to spend time with the youth of the enclave, but civil unrest was brewing. When outright battles erupted and forest fires grew out of control, she managed to escape with a party of refugees aboard a starship. The travel took many years, but they eventually settled on the planet Earth and restarted their lives and families there. She lost contact with her parents after this.

Ages 100- 200 She found peace and comfort in returning to her original enclave in the forest. She looked after the youth and helped with their training and education. Earlier in her life, she tended towards impatience, but now she found that she was less impulsive - thinking of her time in the terms of centuries rather than years.

Ages 50-100 In Lanthanite society, Zosia was transitioning to adulthood. She travelled beyond her forest home on a regular basis to explore more of the world. Architecture became one of her main interests at this point. Building with materials other than what was readily available in the forest was fascinating.

Ages 20-50 She continued her studies of language. The games of stealth she played in her younger years intensified as she learned how to move unseen through the forest. For the first time, she left her forest home to learn about the wider world.

Ages 0-20 Zosia was raised in an enclave deep in the forests of her homeworld, surrounded by nature and the wisdom of her elders. She studied several languages and was taught the importance of living in harmony with nature. She endured lessons in archery, but thrived in games of stealth.
