Mission: In The Nick Of Time
Location: Sick Bay - Deck 4 - USS Herodotus
Timeline: MD002 0900 hrs

There were varying ways that Addison could get the examinations done for the crew. The best way she felt was to actually call for them. This is due to she didn't know where they could be at this point and time. They had a new arrival, M'Ressa. She was the helm officer. Tapping on her combadge.

=^= Lieutenant M'Ressa please come to Medical. This is Lieutenant Addison Talbert=^=

It didn't take long for M'Ressa to arrive in sickbay. With a ship only 5 decks high, getting around the ship was pretty easy, especially for someone with cat like agility. Not to mention M'Ressa spent most of her off time in the shuttle bay where she'd set up her office as her own comfortable private space.

Walking in through the doors to Sickbay, M'Ressa scanned the room for the Lieutenant.

Addison stepped out from the back part of Sickbay. "Hello" a warm smile appearing. "Thank you for answering my call. I wanted touch base with you and get some scans run. How are you doing?"

M'Ressa returned the smile and the wave, "I'm ok, still settling in but it'll take some time to feel at home. What can I do for you, Lieutenant?"

"I need to run some scans on you, to check up on your health, and also have something to compare when we return from our missions. I feel there will be some changes depending on where we go."

M'Ressa tilted her head with a curious expression on her face, "What kind of changes are you expecting?" she asked, her tail twitching a little out of a small sense of worry. As she was not from this timeline, would there have already been changes to her?

"I am not certain but this is why I am making the scans. Start with the basics and move forward. And I don't know much about your history. I would like to know." Addison having a warm and genuine smile.

"Oh, um, where would you like me to start? I'm not exactly native to this timeline." M'Ressa explained with a shrug

"Oh? Well that is a place to start, not from this universe. Then we'll most definitely take some scans and keep track of your physical status. I will say, you are my first patient from another universe, but I intend on doing what I can to keep you around and see what we can do for treatments. "Addison felt that she needed to be honest about this. "I will be doing my utmost though in seeing to you being healthy."

“Thank you doctor, I appreciate it. Captain Thorrin said I might start suffering from Temporal Narcosis after a while. He did give me some medication to take while I’m here.” M’Ressa explained, taking out a small hypospray from her pocket.

Addison raised an eyebrow at this. "Do you think that he'd give me the make up of this medication, or I can scan it to make more of this, for you? This is intriguing and from what you said, it will keep you here for now."

"If you need to scan it, go ahead. As I'll be relying on you to stay sane, I'll happily share anything with you that might help." M'Ressa said, holding out the hypospray for the doctor to take. "From what the Captain told me, it's a somewhat progressive condition, but the medication can slow it down, and he said there's currently no cure other then returning to my universe of origin, which is impossible at present."

Addison took the hypospray and ran a scan of it. "Ah yes it matches what is in the database, that Captain Thorrin had informed me of. Thank you." handing the hypospray back to M'Ressa. "Have you taken your dose as of yet? I would hate for you to start dwindling as we were talking. As for your history do you have family back in your own universe?"

M’Ressa shook her head, “No, I haven’t taken a dose yet, I thought I would take it when I started feeling the effects.” she explained, looking down at the hypo for a moment as she thought about how to answer her second question, “As for family, yes I had one.” M’Ressa answered, her ears drooping a little, “I was the oldest of seven siblings, practically helped mum to raise them.”

Her eyebrows raised, Addison drew in a breath. "And now you are here." the doctor bringing over the medical tricorder. "M'Ressa, I feel that you should take your dose right now. Wouldn't be prudent for you to not do so. From what I have been told that this is important that you do so and not wait until the Temporal Necrosis begins its onslaught. In fact.." the doctor bringing out the scanner, beginning the scan. "You should take it now."

Hesitating for a moment, M'Ressa quickly pressed the hypo to her neck. The doctor's tone of voice had started to worry her, and she was starting to feel a little panicked, "So, what should I expect then? Dizziness? Nausea? Headaches?"

Addison drew in a breath, letting it out slowly. "M'Ressa, take a deep breath, in through the nose out out the mouth. I wasn't trying to alarm you, but waiting for symptoms to begin isn't a good thing either. " she ran the hand scanner over M'Ressa's head, "Temporal Necrosis from what I have been reading starts to hit your whole body and yes it will affect your brain." Addison paused her scan to reaching out gently placing a hand upon M'Ressa's shoulder giving it a comforting squeeze. "There isn't any way to sugar coat things with your condition. And I am sorry to have caused you some anxiousness." her blue eyes expressing her apologies.

"No, I understand the condition is fatal if left untreated, I just want to know what I should expect" M'Ressa said in return, glancing over at the tricorder scanner her, "I can't prepare for what I don't know about"

"With necrosis, it being on cellular level, brain wise it will cause nausea, you'd have headaches, could have seizures if you are not taking the medication that was made for you. It would also affect you being able to pilot the ship, as it would mess with your cognitive functioning, proving to be devastating for you." Addison being upfront, and having a compassionate expression.

Taking a moment to process, M'Ressa's ears swept back in a concerned expression, "So basically, if I don't take the medication, I'll become useless to the crew. Not only harming my own chances of getting home, but possibly stranding the ship in an unfamiliar time. That's a lot of pressure for anyone."

"Yes, it is a lot of pressure which is why I say don't skip your dose. Take care of it when you first wake up. I really hope that we'll be able to find a way to get you more steady and that you won't have to take the medicine, we are not going to give up in finding a solution." Addison said firmly.

M'Ressa smiled at Addison, though her ears were still swept back and droopy, "Thank you doctor, I'll do my best to keep up with the medication."

"Please do, as I personally don't want anything to happen to you." Addison gave an encouraging smile. Deep down inside, even if they were trained to keep professional, doctors take it hard when they lose a patient under their care. Addison is one who cares as well, and with the new crew she was a part of, she doesn't want to lose any of them. "Now that I've interrupted your day too much already, you may leave." a soft chuckle.
