Mission: In The Nick Of Time
Location: Sick Bay - Deck 4 - USS Herodotus
Timeline: MD006 1600 hrs

Addison was frowning just a tad, looking at her medical scanner and the bio bed she had been sitting upon. She had been checking her own vitals and comparing it with her hand scanner. They weren't syncing up with each other. She needed a second opinion.

Tapping on her commbadge, Addison sent out a call.

=^=Lieutenant Spencer, could I trouble you with coming down to medical? I need a little bit of help=^=

Wyatt had just taken a shower and changed into civilian garb, khaki colored chinos, an Academy sweatshirt that had been teal when it was originally replicated, now it was washed and appeared as either grey or blue, depending on the light. His comm badge was lying on the nightstand, and he almost missed the call.

Thankfully, he just heard it. He moved to his bed, sat down on the edge of it, and swiped the badge. =^= On my way, I'll be there in five minutes.=^=

He tugged at the hem of his sweatshirt as he stepped into the turbolift.

"Am I in trouble?" he asked with a cheeky smile as the doors to sickbay hissed shut behind him.

Addison had been scowling at the scanner when Wyatt stepped inside.

She gave out a squeal, sending the medical scanner flying into the air. She had been so concentrated upon trying to figure out why the scanner and the biobed weren't pairing up, that she didn't notice that Wyatt had arrived.

"Ack!!"

Scrambling to catch the tricorder before it hit the floor.

"Sorry about that," he said, his cheeky smile changing into an innocent one, or at least a more innocent one. "I really didn't mean to startle you."

Addison gave out a chuckle, setting the tricorder upon the bio bed, color rising in her cheeks.

"You're good, I was just trying to figure out just what is going on with the medical tricorder and why it's not syncing with the biobed. A little bit frustrating to be honest." giving another glare at the offending piece of equipment.

She turned back to Wyatt.

"And well, I didn't want to take the thing apart to dig into what was wrong, figured I'd get your help." she then noticed that he was dressed in Civvies. "Uh, did I call you in the middle of personal time?"

The blond man shook his head, "I just got off shift, but didn't have any big plans. I was going to work on a new project, but I've had writer's block recently, so you're doing me a favor."

"I'm not the best engineer on board, but I think I can handle a simple repair like that, assuming Murphy's Law doesn't strike and there's a bug in the programming that will take over all the ship's systems when I start to tinker with it. but that's only happened once."

The cheeky grin was back.

"I'll tell you what. I'll fix it for you if you'll help me with my new holodeck adventure."

"You have a holodeck adventure? That sounds fascinating. Sure, I'm in." Addison having a rather fascinated expression in her eyes.

"Okay, let's get cracking on this and then to your adventure," handing the tricorder to Wyatt.

"So, I have two in mind, we could do, " Wyatt offered as he worked on the repairs. "The first is historical. It is Paris, July of 1942. The French police, under orders from Germany, are making mass arrests of Jews, foreigners, and dissidents. We are part of the Resistance. The second is set in a fantasy world where magic is real. It's a fantasy/steampunk fusion. Do you like either of those ideas? If not we can find something more generic

"Both of those sound very intriguing. I may have to roll the proverbial mental dice to decide. Or toss a coin for me to decide." She went quiet for a moment or two, then Addison decided. "Let's try the second, as long as I can pencil in the other choice for a later time?"

A flight of fantasy, when was the last time she'd actually done something like this?

"I'm glad you like both ideas. Do you have an idea of what you want your character to be? Fighter, rogue, spellcaster, something else?"

"Well-maybe something that might fit my own skills? A cleric? One who heals and can fight. Or should I do something very off the wall? I am open to suggestions. I'd like to hear an idea from you." Addison giving a lopsided smile.

"I usually play rogues, charming, resourceful, agile, you know the type. Someone who can be on the front line, a tank. I think a cleric would be perfect."

"Have you ever played one before?"

Addison nodded, "Yes, I have, both for table-top as well as LARPing and also holoprograms. I could have a staff of healing, or a staff of thwacking." giving a wink.

She looked over Wyatt, her mind going over what he said about his personal choice. "I can see you playing a wonderful rogue. And that class definitely fits."

"Sometimes," he replied with a smile that more than reached his eyes, art imitates life. "I think if I were to be sent back in time, or find myself in a world of fantasy, instead of our scientific reality we live in, I would be just like my character. Well, mostly anyway."

A warm chuckle from Addison, "Well, I can see that, as from what I have learned, Rogues are rather clever and adaptable. Now, though, how is my tricorder doing? Will it behave now?" glancing at the medical tricorder in Wyatt's hands.

"I almost forgot," he said as he handed it back to her. "There you go. Good as new. Or at least it's functional."

"You ready to see how much trouble we can get in?"

Addison gave out a delighted laugh. "Let's see what your creative mind comes up with."

She gave a test reading on herself, then watched as the readings she took synced up with the bio bed.

"Magnificent work, thank you, Wyatt." Addison was definitely pleased, putting away the tricorder. "Shall we go have an adventure?"

"Yes, let's do that, " Wyatt responded, "and thanks for the compliment."
